Real estate in the news

July 27th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

The recent down turn in the stock market has been fueled by lower earnings reported by some major companies and fears that the real estate market is finally starting to slow down in some of the major markets. While the reports are showing that markets like Florida and Texas as seeing a slow down other areas are still going steady. This presents a great opportunity for those buying homes as they interest rates are still low and the value of homes is lower than they were a few months ago. The market has a surplus of homes as seen by the lower new starts across the country. Builders are starting to only build homes once they are sold instead of putting them up and waiting for buyers to come in.

Allergies controlled

Many offices are now putting in silk trees in their waiting areas to reduce the allergies that real plants can present. The plants and trees look very real and it is almost difficult to tell unless your real close. Since allergies seem to be more prevalent in todays environment the ability to eliminate certain sources make sense. Plus the silk plants and trees are easier for upkeep since all you have to do is keep them dusted. You can find a great selection of plants and trees for your home or office at nearlynatural.com.

Now is the time to book your Pigeon Forge cabin rental for your family vacation. Located in the Smokey mountains in TN, this location presents clean air and majestic views to give you and your family a memorable vacation. These beautiful log cabins are roomy and come with lots of amenities that allow you to get away from the rest of the world and just enjoy nature and all that it has to offer. Many times we vacation in locations that do not allow us to just connect with our families and ourselves which is very healthy and a great stress reducer.

Don’t be fooled by the tourist traps of Orlando and California. There are so many wonderful places in the US that the entire family can enjoy. Many people on the east coast will head to the Outer Banks as it offers a great setting next to the ocean.

Auto Accessories

July 26th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

I was watching a show the other night where people submit there to be remodeled. They use various auto accessories to beef up a 1978 Chevy for some odd reason. The one that got me was they actually put an aquarium in the back seat to make this car unique. I am always up for a good idea, but how healthy can it be to have a algae infested fish tank in your back seat. I am sure that the car serves a purpose, but I am waiting on the next car where they will probably install putting green in the back of a 1958 Ford pick up truck.

Organic Pet Food

Orgnic Pet food

While this site is mostly dedicated to people we can’t forget about mans best friend the dog. I have been amazed at the amount of recalls that we have seen the last 6 months on dog food and the stir that this has caused. We spend billions each year to keep our pets fed and well. This is probably why we will see more Organic dog food coming onto the market. As more farmers cater to the organic food movement it only makes sense that pet food will follow. Many people feed their pets scraps from the table so this would be the next logical steps. I have not seen any data that organic food is better for you other then the fact that you leave out some of the pesticides.

Sinus Infections

sinus infection

Did you know that Americans spent over $5.8 million in order to battle sinus infections. If you have ever had a sinus infection it can be quite painful and very difficult to treat. This can lead to missed days of work and school for most people. Most health care providers will treat with a course of anti-biotics and a nasal steroid in order to try and control the inflammation. So what are some of the sinus infection symptoms?

Signs can include facial pain, headaches, post nasal drip, swollen throat, and cough just to name a few. The key is that if not treated properly a sinus infection can lead to other problems. Kids are especially difficult to treat as in their early years a sinus infection will more commonly lead to ear infections.

There are many treatments for adults. A natural sinus infection treatment which include Collodial Silver which is a natural antimicrobial treatment. With the widespread use of antibiotics there use is becoming less effective. Each person will respond to treatment differently and you should always consult  your physician if symptoms last more than a few days.

Foosh energy mints are a hit

July 26th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

enegy mintsWe wrote about a week ago on a new energy mint that is reported to have the same or better effects than most energy drinks. We did place an order and received our mints along with a 2 complimentary packs of the Buzz Bites. ( Fast shipping) I want to thank Vroomfoods.com and Trevor for reading our post and providing the additional samplers. I must say that I have been using them daily and they are everything that they claim and more. The Foosh Energy Mints are awesome and they provide a great energy boost that lasts and actually give you fresh breath. Plus while I am on the road if I am feeling a little tired I can just pop one in my mouth and I am good to go.

This product is quite timely based on the negative press that diet and regular coke are getting about links to metabolic syndrome and the effects of long term consumption. There are a lot of people that drink diet soda not to loose weight but for the added caffeine. They are finding that even doing away with the sugar that it might be the syrups that are used to increase the rate of metabolic syndrome.

So if you are looking for a great way to stay alert during a long work day, cramming for a test, or sitting through a meeting then I would highly recommend Foosh Energy Mints, or for the chocolate lovers their Buzz bites, which by the way are really good.

Research

This has caused a lot stir around the long term consumption of any carbonated beverage. I am sure that companies like Coke and Pepsi have their market research teams in action to determine what consumers are thinking about the latest announcement.

Are you blind?

July 25th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

OK, it had to be something related to health didn’t it? I have seen the word faux more lately in various blogs and online chat rooms so thought I would create a quick mention on faux wood blinds. Why would anyone want faux anything in their home? I just recently discovered that we do. I was looking at some wood blinds that my wife had recently ordered and asked here what type of wood they were made of. She stated that it was not real wood, and I was pretty amazed. The look and style were great and really accented our room with the added cost of actual wood blinds and less upkeep.

Foosh energy Mints

July 18th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

I travel quite a bit on the road and I have been trying to find ways in which to keep me alert on some of those longer trips. I have done the espressos, and lately have been trying some of the energy drinks. They work to a certain extent but some of the drawbacks is more frequent bathroom stops, high calorie content, and I usually spend about $4 on the coffee, and about $2 on the energy drinks. So when I was told about Foosh energy mints I was very interested.

So what are these energy mints and are their claims really what they show.Foosh energy mints The mints have claims that one mint will equal one cup of coffee, 3 cans of coke, and 14 other caffeinated mints. They offer a great advantage for people who travel like me in that they are convenient, cost effective, and have the added advantage of a mint taste. So now you can obtain fresh breath while staying awake. There are two options you have which are the Foosh energy Mints, or for chocolate lovers Buzz Bite Chocolate Energy Chews. I have ordered a few packs to test them out and will be providing an update back here on my blog. If you get a chance to check them out and try them out let us and our readers know by posting in our comments section. If they work as well as they say I will save myself about $40 per month in my coffee and energy drink purchases, plus consuming less calories and sugar which is always a plus.

Foosh energy mints They come in a convenient tin or blister pack depending on your preference. As you can see they are made of caffeine, vitamin B, ginseng, and taurine. So all good stuff without all the extra fillers you may find in other products. You can find out more about their products and claims by following any of the links that have been provided in our post.

Stocks hit new high, what about gold

July 17th, 2007 -- Posted in Consumer News | No Comments »

The stock market hit 14K for a few moments today led by different sectors like pharmaceuticals and health companies. Oil was also moving upwards in the wake of the overseas turmoil. With crude oil at an 18 month as of this writing investing in commodities has become a little more risky. Purchasing metals such as silver or gold are nice in that you can actually take possession of your investment. Currently the demand is outpacing the supply for gold and the price per oz has remain pretty consistent above the $600 range. With the volatility in the rest of the world the markets react cautiously and investing in metals to diversify your portfolio may be something to consider.
