Wear your safety goggles

March 28th, 2008 -- Posted in Mens Health | No Comments »

As the Spring projects start to heat up you want to make sure and not develop any bad habits when working around the yard or in the garage. Always wear protective air when working with any power or air tools to reduce the risk of a serious eye injury. All that it takes is one stray pieces of metal, wood, or even mulch and you could be taking a trip to the emergency room. Wear approved safety glasses that are shatter proof so that even if something does fly your way the glasses themselves will not cause additional harm.

wine of the month club benefits

March 23rd, 2008 -- Posted in Conusmer Health | No Comments »

There have been many benefits associated with the consumption of wine. Most notably is the potential benefit for your cardiovascular health. It has been shown that a glass of wine a day helps to raise your good cholesterol or HDL. The Honolulu Heart Study showed that there was a 50% reduction in rate of coronary heart disease associated with the group that had one glass of wine as compared to placebo. One thought is that the grapes help to offer an anti-oxidant value that helps to reduce some of the effects of atherosclerosis that is a progressive disease based on family history and diet. For many people they have joined a wine club that ships them a new bottle of select wines every month. This helps to take the guess work out and allows the sample wines that they might not have otherwise tried. While the benefit has been studied it is all within moderation and obviously would not be recommended for those with active liver disease. Other reports have shown that wine can help women reduce the incidence of kidney stones.

Staying in Branson

March 22nd, 2008 -- Posted in Vacation | No Comments »

This years vacation will be either in California or in the midwest. We have been researching locations like Branson condos for places to stay. Branson is great because of the unique entertainment that they have to offer and plus the fact that we have never been. I am probably most interested in the Titanic landmark attraction. No they didn’t bring up the actual ship, but a very realistic replica located in Branson of all places. I have been intrigued with history, especially as it relates to maritime mis-haps and what could have been done differently to avoid such tragedy’s. Looks like we might be headed to Missouri.

Todays commodities market has seen some historic gains in areas like oil and wheat. When oil hit the $110 a barrel mark many were wondering when the it would level off. This has been one of the reasons that the economy has been in such a state of flux because consumer confidence in the health of the economy is uncertain. Even wheat has hit some all time highs and this will only translate into higher food costs. For commodity brokers this has been a great time as more people are looking elsewhere to place their money other than the stock market. There are many brokers with the expertise and knowledge to help you manage your investments and help you to understand what the economy could do here in the states and what happens overseas and the effect on US investments

What is Orovo?

March 19th, 2008 -- Posted in Mens Health | No Comments »

We were asked to do some research on a relatively new diet pill called Orovo. After doing some research we found out that it indeed was a diet pill that appears to offer the consumer some additional benefits of increased energy. This could be a good benefit if you are exercising daily and may find yourself a little sluggish which can limit your enthusiasm to get in the mode. There were several testimonies where people claimed that lost several pounds within the first few weeks of starting the diet supplement. The one it doesn’t claim which is refreshing is that it is not the Miracle pill that will help you shed pounds and keep them off. Along with diet and exercise you can add this to your regimen and it can help aid in your weight loss goals.

healthy eating

The world in which live is based on immediate knowledge and reward and this has caused a shift in how we treat our bodies and the foods that we eat. When I was growing up dinner time was sacred and this was the time that we sat down as a family had a good home cooked meal and discussed what we did that day. Today parents are shuffling their kids off to soccer, football, and band practice and grabbing whatever is fast and convenient to feed them on the way to the next event. This fast paced pace stressful life has taken it’s toll on our diets and is reflective in the rise of obesity and diabetes. Our bodies are not able to handle all the saturated fats and processed sugars that it starts to shut down causing us to crave more of these things. Many people have turned to nutritional supplements to help provide more balance in their diet and to help get vitamins that are missing in their daily meals.

There are many companies and even more nutritional health supplements that can be found at your local store or online. So how do you know which supplements are right for you? The first thing is to make sure that you check with your health care provider to ask their opinion and various supplements as some of them may interact with prescription medicines that you may be taking. Also find a reputable site that is not only selling the products but actually provide unbiased information on the various supplements and about the conditions that they treat. if you find a site that all they have are product links then you may want to surf around.

I was reading an article the other day on how to keep your PC or laptop healthy and reduce the chance of a hard drive crash. Some of the recommendations included scanning your PC for spyware, doing frequent virus checks, and shutting off your PC regularly. They also recommended to see an increase in your performance you can upgrade your memory and not have to upgrade your processor. This has worked for us in the past and you will see a marked increase in performance in just one simple thing. The key is to make sure that the memory that you do purchase is compatible with your particular motherboard. You can find laptop memory and other PC maker memory options at memorystore.com.
