We have been looking at new vacation homes here on one of our more popular lakes. I am looking for a log cabin type home with cabin furniture throughout the home and large deck that overlooks the lake or the forest. Now is a great time to look for a second home that you might use for a vacation spot because of the slump in the housing market many vacation spots are at a great discount. In some cases owners are selling their homes in lake/resort areas with all the furniture included just to get out from underneath the payment.

The biggest hit from the line of National Lampoon movies may be the 1983 hit Vacation. I think everyone has seen this movie and the adventures of the Griswold family as they make their way to Wally World. Vacation is a great movie and Chevy Chase from Saturday Night Live made this movie and all of the other movies that followed the Griswold clan. In 1985 is when National Lampoon’s European Vacation came out and was the 2nd movie based on the Griswold family. The 3rd one to appear was in 1989 called Christmas Vacation and this is a great Christmas movie. We had to wait 8 years later to see the next movie and in 1997 is when the comedy Vegas Vacation came out. I think all 4 of these movies were super funny and National Lampoon really struck gold with the Griswold family in Vacation, European Vacation, Christmas Vacation, and Vegas Vacation. I love how they travel across the country and blow out their rv repair to only create more memories on their vacation. If every family vacation had this amount of fun and laughter we would all be in a better place.

The Capilano Group of Companies has some of the top vancouver attractions that they manage. One of those attractions is the Capilano Suspension Bridge which was purchased back in 1983 and has since added numerous new features to attract tourists and locals. The Bridge was featured in the attractions to see when in Vancouver during the 2008 Winter Olympics. This impressive suspension bridge spans 450 feet across a 230 feet above the Capilano river. They have added several other properties like Morain Lodge on the shores of Morain Lake with breath taking views. This property offers a beautiful retreat for those looking to get away for a romantic week or that second honeymoon. We have added a picture of the area looking down at the resort.

With the temperatures sneeking into the low 100′s where we live many people are already starting to think of snow. While the Summer has been relatively mild the last few days have been hot and it gets you thinking of Fall and winter. I know it may be a bit early but now would be the time to snag those snow boots that you have been putting off because they will be cheaper and you guarantee that you will have what you want when the winter months start approaching.

Usually money plays a part in some way and people either move for financial reasons or for a job that pays their finances. Its stressful having to pack up all your belongings and making sure you don’t leave anything behind. Good moving companies can be a big help in situations like this and take away some of the stresses of moving.
