One thought is that the grapes help to offer an anti-oxidant value that helps to reduce some of the effects of atherosclerosis that is a progressive disease based on family history and diet. For many people they have joined a wine club that ships them a new bottle of select wines every month. This helps to take the guess work out and allows the sample wines that they might not have otherwise tried. While the benefit has been studied it is all within moderation and obviously would not be recommended for those with active liver disease.
