For all you car enthusiasts it might come as a surprise that the Corvette introduced in 1953 was almost a footnote in GM’s history had it not been for some fateful events. The first event was GM’s introduction of the V8 engine which helped to propel the Corvette from just a gimmick car to a it’s acclaimed status that it still enjoys today. The second fateful event that spurred on the development of the Corvette was Ford’s introduction of the Thunderbird. This fueled the competition between the two giant US automakers enough that Chevrolet made some design changes that would set in motion one of the longest running car lines in history.
To date there have been six generations of the Corvette sometimes referenced as C1-C6. With the C6 generation covering the years of 2005-2010. Along with the changes in the Corvette from the original Sting Ray design to todays sleek design there have always been a number of Corvette accessories that have been available to help owners protect and customize their pride and joy. The one thing about the Corvette is that they have stayed true to their roots in producing a two seater high performance machine. This has allowed them to maintain their dominance in the US performance car market and created a following that has lasted for over 5 centuries.
